Special Collections & Archives at The Claremont Colleges Library, formerly known as Honnold/Mudd Library, is home to the most distinctive and unique resources—rare books, literary and historical manuscripts, Shakespeare’s folios, maps, photographs, college archives, and more—spanning 900 years of human history. Come meet Lisa Crane and learn about upcoming lectures, events, and exhibits.

Lisa Crane started working at The Claremont Colleges Library in 2007, became the Western Americana Manuscripts Librarian in Special Collections & Archives in 2010, and Director of Special Collections & Archives in 2022. She oversees archival processing, teaches primary source literacy, performs collection development, curates exhibitions, and serves as the interim head of the Claremont Center for Engagement with Primary Sources, which provides in-depth learning experiences for undergrad and graduate students.

"Building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)"

An accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a self contained residential space built on the same property as an existing home. Sometimes called “granny flats,” ADUs include a kitchen, bathroom, and separate entrance. University Club member Andy Winnick will share his experience building an ADU on his property in Claremont and will discuss the process, including construction, regulations, financing, permitting, etc.

Andy is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Statistics at Cal State University, Los Angeles, the President of the Board of Directors of The American Institute for Progressive Democracy, and a member of the Claremont Democratic Club.
