“California Redistricting – What Happens Now?” –
Proposition 50, passed by California voters in November 2025 and now under court challenge, reset the Congressional Districts, making it likely that Democrats will gain seats in California. Dr. Sara Sadhwani was a member of the 2020 Redistricting Commission that set the District Maps for Assembly, Board of Equalization, Congress and State Senate. She is an assistant professor of politics at Pomona College. She specializes in Asian American and Latino voting behavior, elections, interest groups, and representation. Her research has been published in the peer reviewed journals Political Behavior, PS: Political Science and Politics, California Journal of Politics and Policy, and the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and her analysis of elections has been featured in the Washington Post, Vox, the LA Times, and NPR affiliate KCRW-Los Angeles. She earned a B.A. at Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. at the University of Southern California.
